LISA FALKENSTEIN
Postpartum Doula, Travel Newborn Care Specialist, Pediatric Sleep Coach, Founder| CEO of Nurtured Foundation, LGBTQ+ Ally
Lisa Falkenstein graduated from Kent State University in 1997 with a BA in Family Studies. She then worked in various social work positions and with many families in multiple capacities. Over the last six years, her passion has been working with intended parents on their surrogacy journey from delivery to home.
After having her children, she found her calling combining her education, experience, and passion. Lisa’s love for families, motherhood, and breastfeeding led her to a career choice as a postpartum doula in Cleveland. Helping support families, establishing breastfeeding, and empowering women is her passion. As a result, she completed her certification as a Postpartum Doula and a Breastfeeding Educator through Birth Arts International, became a Certified Lactation Counselor (CLC), a Certified Newborn/Infant Massage Instructor through Baby’s First Massage, and a Certified Pediatric Sleep Trainer through Summer’s Sleep Secrets and Sweet Slumber and the Sleep Trifecta System.
She believes that birth and parenthood are sacred times in a family’s life. Her goal for every family is to provide them with resources, education, empowerment, and confidence to work herself out of a job!
Lisa is a happily married mother of two young adults. Her amazing husband helped her make her passion for assisting families to a reality. They reside on the west side of Cleveland with their two pups, cat, and tortoise.
After working part-time, mostly through referrals, for over 8 years and full-time since 2013, Lisa founded Nurtured Foundation in 2014.
