CANTON DOULA & OVERNIGHT NEWBORN CARE -
Birth and postpartum support for families in North Canton, Jackson Township, Lake/Hartville, Glenmoor, Mt. Pleasant & Beyond
From Labor to the Fourth Trimester, We're In It With You
Bringing a newborn home is a lot — more than anyone really tells you beforehand. It doesn't have to mean running on no sleep and guessing at everything.
Whether you're delivering at Aultman or Cleveland Clinic Mercy, getting through your first week home in Jackson Township, or just desperate for one full night of sleep in North Canton, you don't have to figure it out alone.
Nurtured Foundation matches your family with experienced birth and postpartum specialists who come to your home, handle the parts that are wearing you down, and help you feel like you know what you're doing — so there's actually room to enjoy the baby.
Birth Doula Support
We show up for labor, and we stay — through the early hours at home, the car ride, admission, and everything after, until your baby is in your arms. That means hip squeezes during transition, reminding you to eat something at hour fourteen, or just sitting quietly in the corner because that's what you need right then. Unmedicated, epidural, scheduled cesarean, induction — the plan matters less than having someone in the room who knows your preferences and can speak up for them when you can't.
Overnight Newborn Care
Somebody else takes the 2 AM shift. Our overnight newborn care specialists arrive between 9 and 10 PM and handle feedings, diapers, and settling until morning. If you're breastfeeding, we'll wake you to nurse and take the baby right back for burping so you can fall right back asleep — no lingering awake doing bottle prep or pacing the hallway. Most parents tell us the difference shows up by day three: fewer tears, more patience, actual full sentences.
Pediatric Sleep Consulting
We partner with Gentle Journey Sleep Co. for sleep coaching that fits your baby's age and your family's approach — no cry-it-out required. Expect a plan built around your baby's actual patterns, not a generic schedule, and support adjusting it as things change (because they will).
Birth Doula Support at Canton's Hospitals
We've spent enough time in Stark County's birth rooms to know the staff, the layout, and how each unit tends to run — which makes it easier to work alongside whatever OB or midwife you've chosen, wherever you end up delivering.
Aultman Hospital Birth Center (Canton): We know the labor suites well, including how to make the most of hydrotherapy if that's part of your plan, and we coordinate directly with Aultman's nursing staff.
Cleveland Clinic Mercy Hospital (Canton): Comfortable in Mercy's maternity wards, offering hands-on comfort measures and helping you move through labor positions that actually help.Serving Canton & Stark County

Second trimester is a good target if you want your pick of dates on our calendar. That said, if you're already home from the hospital and realizing you need help at night, call us anyway — we may be able to get someone to you on short notice.

While the terms are often used interchangeably in Cleveland, the difference lies in the approach. A night nurse (often an RN or LPN) focuses on medical needs, while a night nanny provides basic childcare. As a night doula, our role includes infant care plus support for the parents, such as breastfeeding guidance, postpartum recovery monitoring, and emotional support.
